We got married at Tortworth Court Hotel Gloucestershire
Back in 2008 Rachael and I had our wedding reception at the gorgeous Tortworth Court Hotel, that is literally down the road from us here in Charfield.
We liked the idea of an intimate rather than large wedding, although was at the time budget dictated. We planned late, approximately 6 weeks before got a great deal during May so the main tip is to make sure your family and friends can make your wedding day.
We were so lucky with the weather, a beautiful sunny day, so we managed to have drinks outside on the gorgeous grounds. Another tip, make sure you discuss weather contingencies with the venue and your suppliers.
Our wedding breakfast was in the library surrounded by books that is a lovely room with character, incorporating large windows for natural light that’s perfect for wedding photography and videos.
This stunning wedding venue and hotel is situated just off junction 14 on the M5 motorway in Gloucestershire, on the edge of the idyllic and quintessentially English Cotswolds, an area of outstanding beauty!
If you love walks in the countryside with amazing food and drink , and stunning architecture then do come and visit this exquisite part of England, its’s about a 2 hour drive from London, depending on traffic. Or a lightning fast train from London Paddington to Bristol Parkway in only 1 hour 15mins!
A Grade II listed hotel in stunning surroundings where centuries old stories meet an exceptionally modern experience. Recorded in the Doomesday Book, the estate was the ancestral seat of the Ducie family for 350 years.
Following a £multi-million restoration after a devasting fire, the manor house now combines 21st century style with a wealth of original features and fittings. The 30 acre estate includes a helicopter landing pad, a Spa, a gym, and a quaint Victorian arboretum for those lovely strolls…simply magical!
This is a wedding I photographed at Tortworth Court hotel, for Memory and Ben’s wedding, with the historic mansion in the background.
